Children's home - Motten

In April 2022, the new kindergarten of the municipality of Motten was opened after 20 months of construction works. The building was built in wooden construction with exposed concrete and shin-gle facade and looks as if several small houses have been lined up. In this manner, a manageable facil-ity with a feel-good character was created.

The heart of the 1000 sqm building is a kitchen implemented by the company kpc and equipped with a dining room located directly next to the main entrance. The open kitchen area equipped with glass facade is divided into a kitchen with wooden body and a pass-through to the food delivery, a rinsing and storage area.

Nutrition is the essence of life. When food is prepared together, the kitchen is transformed into a place of play and learning which appeals to all the senses. The kitchen is equipped with extendable work platforms integrated into the substructure and allowing to be well integrated into the process. This way, the children will be able to stand on a higher level and watch the work carried out in the kitchen by even joining in the cooking.

With an integrated trough fan integrated into the induction hob, the extractor fan will be extracted directly through the hob into the substructure, where it is led out of the base cabinet with low noise through a specially adapted duct system. Consequently, the kitchen area retains an open and mod-ern character since the unobstructed view is not impaired by technical equipment.
